Short Division

Short Division draws from influences across the map and their own pedigrees, including indie, pop, punk, math rock, post-rock, ska, and “Midwest” emo bands of the mid-late 90’s.The band’s twinkly upbeat riffs punctuated by a driving, and occasionally groovy, rhythm section underscores lyrical content wrestling with the ennui of middle class existence and the struggle for meaning in the digital era. Calling back to the teen angst of earlier influences with the maturity and perspective of adulthood, Short Division crafts a sound which is simultaneously melancholic yet hopeful in both lyrical content and musical timbre.
